I'm back at my desk, and I have put together a video covering some of the activity at Squadron's EagleQuest XIX held at the Embassy Suites Resort near Dallas Fort Worth airport. Our report covers the setup, the Squadron Open House shopping spree, the Seminars and one of the evening functions. I will be posting a Gallery of some of the models from the tables in a few days. This Testor's ScaleWorkshop video is 6 min and 7 sec in duration, and may be viewed simply by pressing the "play" button on the screen below.

I had a great time at the Squadron EagleQuest XIX show at the Emabssy Suites Hotel, Dallas over the last few days. Thanks to Mike McMahon, the team from Squadron, and to the EagleQuest comittee for their welcome and hosplitality. I am typing this at Dallas Fort Worth airport awaiting my flight to LA, with a two-hour layover followed by another 13 hours back to Sydney, I'll have photos and videos of this very enjoyable and friendly show on HyperScale in the coming days.

24 June, 2010

  • In our newest Testor's Scaleworkshop video, we take a walk around a remarkable Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-1, upgraded to E-7 standards, just arrived on 21 June 2010 at the Planes of Fame Museum in Chino. This aircraft was recovered from Russia, and still shows evidence of at least three camouflage schemes it wore during its eventful service until it was shot down over the Russian Front. This aircraft was flown by Leutnant Wulf-Dietrich Widowitz, attached to 5./JG 5, and force landed near Petsamo after combat on 4 April 1942. By the way, after recording this video I checked the data plate and confirmed that the Werknummer was 3523 (the chipped second digit on the fin looked like a 3 but it was actually a 5). Subsequent research also revealed that the radio code is CS+AJ. You may view this 4 min 03 sec YouTube video simply by pressing the "play" button on the screen below.

I will look forward to catching up with many of HyperScale's visitors at Eaglequest on Friday and Saturday.
