This 1/48 scale Tamiya Buffalo is fiished in the colours of the Royal Netherlands East Asia air force (“ML-KNIL”), flown by the Dutch from the island of Java against the Japanese invaders in the first weeks of 1942.

This special aircraft was assigned to Lt. Deibel. Dutch Buffalos and their pilots did a great and brave work. Having more powerful engines as the British equivalents, they had a better chance to gain victory over the Ki-43 or Ki-27.

The model was a pleasure to build. I used copper wire to get break lines and bomb racks, the same was used for the wiring of the engine. The exhaust was built of wire insulation. Additionally I sawed of and deflected the side rudder to bring a bit of life to the model.

Painting was done with Tamiya colours.
