This release from F-4Dable Models is the first that I have seen from these guys.
This set allows you to build thLAU-138 launch rail fitted to F-14 A/B/C. This rail is an upgrade of the LAU-7 launch rail with the BOL chaff dispenser integrated into the pylon. The LAU-138 was introduced around 1996 and was seen on F14A/B/Ds participating in OEF and OIF. The pylons are a direct replacement for the rails contained in the Hasegawa kit part no H5. The parts are crisply moulded in very pale yellow resin and they have captured in 1/48 scale all the detail contained in the full size real LAU 138 Aim 9 missile rail. The parts have a small amount of residual resin flash from the casting block that is easily removed with a sharp hobby knife.
Assembly is straightforward with no modification required of the kit plastic to allow the new parts to fit. Modellers with very limuted modelling experience could install this detail set.
In summary, this is a very nice upgrade to increase the detail in the applicable aircraft kit and will look very realistic when fully assembled and painted.
Highly Recommended.
