The 2019 Shizuoka Hobby Show opened a day early yesterday with a student's day for local school children. Alan Harman was there too, and he took some photos and video footage. No news from Tamiya on forthcoming aircraft releases but he did see the new Tamiya 1/35 scale Hummel with link-and-length tracks, a recoil feature plus crew figures and accessories. Here's a very brief Squadron ScaleWorkshop video showing us the forthcoming 1/35 scale Hummel.

I have just heard that Testor will be deleting the Aztek airbrush from its line of products. Although I haven't used mine for a few years, The Aztek was my go-to airbrush for a long time. I bought my first one well over 20 years ago at Chris Wauchop's "Absolute Hobbies" shop in Sydney, and Chris still uses his. The end of an era!

Barracuda Studios has announced seven brand new resin update sets for the recent Eduard 1:48 scale Hawker Tempest Mk.V Series 1 and 2 kits. These include several versions of main wheels, a new seat with harness straps cast in place, corrected spinner and intake, and super detailed exhausts. You can see images and more details of all these Tempest upgrades on the Preview page.
Floyd Werner has also announced the release of a Werner's Wings' 1/48 scale photo reconnaissance conversion for Bf 109 F/G kits. There's also a limited edition release - details and images are available on the Preview page.

In 2019's first Squadron ScaleWorkshop video, I have created a high definition 3 minute 34 sec slideshow of sprue close-ups from Tamiya's brand new 1/35 scale M51 Sheridan.
