Special Hobby's 1/48 scale Model 339-23 Buffalo will be available
online from Squadron
AM-48-129 & AM-72-113 Mikoyan MiG-25 Foxbat - Pitot Tube
The MiG-25 Foxbat aircraft had a most distinctive and complex pitot tube on their noses, involving a number of fins as shown below.
Injected moulded parts in the available kits were normally quite chunky and lacking fine definition. Enter the wonderful team at Master again and offering us this set on 1/72 and 1/48 for your MiG-25 kits. These sets are for all versions of the Foxbat except for the PD/PDS which is below. They may be used on the ICM and Revell kits in 1/48 and the Condor Ukraine, Hasegawa and Hobby Craft kits in 1/72.
These sets are each made up of 2 fine turned brass parts and an incredibly fine resin casting of the fin section. The resin sections come packed within a foam container in the packaging to ensure it is not broken. These little masterpieces will be a drill hole and insert process in the building. The shorter first nose section will enable you to insert and finesse onto the airframe and the, add the resin and fine outer nose section after you modelling and painting work is complete and ensuring you haven’t broken it.
AM-48-130 & AM-72-114 Mikoyan MiG-25PD/PDS Foxbat E Pitot Tube
The MiG-25PD/PDS version had a much simpler pitot tube as shown.
The Master set of this aircraft is a 2 piece turned brass set. Again, a separate nose cone section to assist in the blending to the fuselage is provided with the longer section to go on later to ensure no damage during the building and painting stages.
These sets are for the MiG-25PD/PDS versions of the Foxbat except for the PD/PDS which is below. They may be used on the Kitty Hawk kit in 1/48 and the ICM kit in 1/72.
AM-48-131 Mikoyan MiG-31 Foxhound - Pitot Tube
The MiG-31 Foxhound also has a fairly complex and distinctive pitot on the nose, and as stated above certainly could use refinement from a Master set on its nose.
These sets are each made up of 2 fine turned brass parts and an incredibly fine resin casting of the fin section. The resin sections again come packed within a foam container in the packaging to ensure it is not broken. Fitment is the same as the MiG-25 sets above.
They may be used on the used Avant Garde, Hobby Boss and Lindberg kits in 1/48
Each of these sets would be highly recommended to any Russian enthusiast and MiG modellers out there. Keep them coming Master!
