Sword's 1/72 scale Lightning T.Mk.4 is available online from Squadron
Here is my my Sword 1/72 EE Lightning T.Mk.4.
I bought this kit after being motivated by a review on Hyperscale.
For the plane the following additional parts have been used:
For the build the instructions were followed, but some work was done parallel.
The fit is o.k., position pins are missing which requires some attention when the large parts of the fuselage and whings are assembled.
The color instructions of the kit are very common (e.g. grey, green, etc.). So the instruction of the Airfix F2A kit as well as photos and color hints from Richard J. Caruanas book " The English Electric Lightning" where used to fix the exact colors.
I did not find a photo of the displayed plane so there stays an uncertainess about the front of the underside of the wings because on photos of single seaters it is clearly visible that they are green painted.
I decided to follow the kits instruction and painted it completely aluminium.
For painting a mix of Vallejo, Tamiya-, Gunze, Humbrol and Revell colors (interrior und upper surface), as well as different Alclad II colors for the metallic surfaces where used.
For the markings the well adherend decals of the kit where used.
Presentation on the base:
Intake cover from the Airfix kit, ladder from Eduard, the rest from Flightpath's RAF Dorama Set.
