Model Alliance expand their “Defending the Reich Skies” with this latest release in 1:48 scale. As with part 1 there are five subjects presented, all contained on a single decal sheet.

The printing is up to a very high standard with excellent colour density and no registration problems. The carrier film is quite thin and is placed as close to the design as is practical.

No stencil data is supplied but the modeller does get the Geschwader identification bands. As there are a number of kits that are recommended with these decals, the modeller will have to take their chances as to which ones the supplied RVDs will fit.

The colourful instruction sheet leaves no mistake as to where the markings should go and the list of paints that match the RLM colours is very handy. Brands covered in the latter are Humbrol, Xtracolor, Likelike and Model Master.

The five subjects profiled are:

1. Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-14/AS “White 4”, Kassel, Germany, 1945. Finished in RLM 75/83/76 with 81/83 on the fin and rudder.

2. Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-14/AS “Green 1, W.Nr. 784930, I/JG 77, 1945.  Finished in RLM 83/75/76, with 81/83 on the rudder.

3. Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9, “White 15”, W.Nr. 600651, Germany, 1945.  Finished in RLM 75/83/76, with random application of 82.

4. Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8, “Chevron 4”, I./JG 301, Germany, April/May 1945. Finished in RLM 74/75/76 with parts of the underwing surfaces left in natural metal.

5. Focke-Wulf Fw 190 F-8, “Yellow 11”, W.Nr. 681330, II./SG 2, Neubiberg, Germany, April 1945. Finished in RLM 74/83/76.
   
    

This latest sheet from Model Alliance presents the modeller with a variety of Luftwaffe fighters from the last years of the war.

The subjects are colourful and the list of references on the sheets allows the modeller to confirm the profiles for themselves.
