P-51B Mustang

P-51B Mustang

Tamiya's 1/48 scale P-51B Mustang is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Here is my P-51B in the markings of Edwin Heller's "Heller-Bust". This was a beautiful paint scheme, and when I saw it, I knew I had to build it. This is the 1/48 scale kit is from Tamiya, with an aftermarket interior from Jaguar, resin wheels from True Details, drop tanks from a Hasegawa kit and decals from Aeromaster.

The model was a joy to build, as is usually the case with Tamiya products.

This model has appeared previously on Hyperscale, photographed with a poor quality camera. Recently I was able to borrow my friends brand new $800 Sony Digital camera.

I am currently working on a another Tamiya Mustang (a "D"), in 55th FG markings and using the Aires and Ultracast resin sets.

I can't wait to see how that one turns out!
