Here is my Messerschmitt Me 163A from Flashback in
1/48th scale.
The kit represents the Messerschmitt Me 163A V1 "Komet".
Heini Dittmar reached the maximum speed 1003,67 km/h (Mach 0,84) in the
cockpit of this aircraft, to become the fastest man in the world on
October 2, 1941 at Peenemünde in Germany.
The kit is built straight from the box except for the
tail skid (plastic rods and photoetched ski) and the nose where I added
a small ring and a small tube in two holes.
The aircraft is overall gray RLM02 (Humbrol n°29 34%,
Humbrol n°25 13%, Humbrol n°34 51% and Humbrol n°82 2%, according with
paint charts of IPMS Stockholm). A coat of gloss varnish from Aeromaster
was sprayed prior to application of decals, then four coats of Tamiya's
gloss varnish were applied and highly polished with Tamiya's Compound.
It's easy because aircraft's lines are simply and pure.
