Here in Milan, we continue to confront heat that is well past comfortable in our book!

Speaking of books, several more books and magazines have arrived since our last newsletter. Also, I’d like to point out that orders placed before 8 AM Friday 9/11 should ship on 9/11 – however because of other obligations orders placed later will not ship until Tuesday at the earliest.

We have also expanded our selection of books in these departments: For those who missed the announcement last week, on the shelves now are: We are the exclusive supplier of M1 and M1A1 - A History of the Ward LaFrance and Kenworth M1 and M1A1 Wreckers and a few other books.  As a result, many people from outside the USA shop our website.  Thus, we need to clarify something - unfortunately, our website can only estimate shipping costs to destinations outside the USA – and it estimates high.  As a result, some may be put off from shopping due to high shipping costs.  We are happy to give an exact quote – simply email us and let us know EXACTLY which books you are interested in and your complete shipping address.  Sending us a note saying “I live in France and would like to buy some Legends of Warfare books, how much is the shipping?” only delays things.  Writing and saying, “I am interested in your Roger B. Taney Legends of Warfare book and my address is Place d'Armes, 78000 Versailles, France, how much would shipping be?” gives us enough information to provide an actual quote.

If you accept the quote, reply to the quote email and let us know, then place your order normally and in a few minutes or hours the overcharge will be refunded.

In closing, this is the eve of the anniversary of the tragic loss of life of thousands of everyday people.  People going about their daily lives, going to visit family, going into the office – or going to work at jobs that entail more than a little risk: firefighter, police officer, member of the armed forces.  Most had no thought that “this will be the last time I say “good morning” or “goodbye” to my loved ones” – but it was.  Remember those who have holes in their hearts because of the treacherous acts of that day – and remember to never take those dear to you for granted.
