Memorial Information

Thank you for all of your love, friendship and support! These last months have have helped us realize how many different and wonderful sides there were to our dad. We anticipate that his memorial next Monday will again highlight not only dad's sheer brain power and accomplishments, but the manner in which, in his extremely humble way, he deeply touched so many people in so many different walks of life.

The University of Chicago, Charles E. Metz Memorial Fund

Professor Metz's numerous contributions to Imaging Science research and education, especially within the Graduate Program in Medical Physics and Department of Radiology, are reflected in the success of his students as they have become the leaders of tomorrow. Charlie was a teacher of teachers. In his memory, the University of Chicago will aim to establish the Charles E. Metz Special Topics Course, inviting world-renowned scientists to lecture within our graduate program.

The Pritzker Military Library

Charlie's extensive and complete collection of books and modeling kits of WWII airplanes is being donated to the Pritzker Military Library on Michigan Ave. Your donations will help offset the cost of cataloging and maintaing this large donation.
