Review Type: FirstLook
Advantages: his tool is small, light, cordless/re-chargeable, and works very well at low RPM’s. Even at high RPM’s, the tool runs with little-to-no vibration. It’s cordless but not gutless. The beautifully machined tungsten carbide grinding bit’s come in many useful shapes.
Disadvantages: The tool will not fit most Dremel attachments.
Conclusion: Highly Recommended

FirstLook

I’ve seen this tool referred to as a “Sanding Pen” or a “Rotary Sander” or “?”…….

I liken it to a high-quality Mini Die Grinder and one of the most useful tools I’ve added to my bench.

The DSPIAE Rotary “Sanding Pen” (aka Mini Die Grinder) is compact, cordless, light (58 grams/ 2oz) and designed so as not to roll off your bench.

The Grinder has a single-button control and three speeds to choose from.  An easy-to-understand indicator panel shows RPM and battery percentage. There is also an over-load indicator, which automatically turns the tool off should the torque load be too high (i.e. you’re pressing down too hard)–very nice.

Note that in the picture of the indicator panel above the tool is running…………. One of the noticeable things about this tool is how stable the grinding bits are even at top speed. There is little-to-no wobble; drastically less than any of my Dremel or David Union power tools. Most importantly for me, the tool is smooth and stable at lower RPM settings without feeling like it’s underpowered.

Each Grinder comes with a domed, double-slotted grinding head, which is good for a lot of general work. Grinding bits fit into the chuck and are locked in place by a pair of set screws.

The tool comes with a Hex Wrench, which stowes into the back-end of the handle. Note: this tool fits all bits and/or drills with a diameter of 3.0mm. Most Dremel attachments don’t fit but no worries, DSPIAE offers a Full Set of tungsten carbide Grinder Bits as well as three sets of economically priced Bits (below).

The tool re-charges via a Type-C USB cable (provided). Charging to 80% power takes ~30 minutes. A full charge takes ~1 hour.

Conclusion

Well, there you have it.

This is a very handy tool. I especially like how smooth and stable it is at lower RPMs, where I prefer to work. There is nothing on MPS that can’t be found on my workbench. If I don’t use it, it’s not on my site. I’ve been reaching for this Grinder a lot since I first test drove one and can recommend it without reservation.

Keep your airbrush wet!
