The Eurofighter Typhoon has been a pretty successful European collaborative venture and is now in service with air forces in Austria, Italy, Germany, the UK, Spain, Saudi Arabia and Oman, with Kuwait and Qatar having some on order. A bit under 700 airframes have been produced.
By my estimate this monumental sheet allows the modeller to build just about every single RAF Typhoon in service in 2024, with I guess a couple of ‘specials’ which are covered in some of the other sheets available from Air-Graphics. It comes in the familiar clear zip-lock bag and consists of one large sheet and two small additional ones with extra /errata markings. Also included, and very necessary, is a sixteen-page full colour A5 instruction booklet that covers a wide range of the possible applications of the markings. This includes a number of colour images of representative aircraft. All airframes are in overall Camouflage Grey bar one “Aggressor” example in black. The squadrons covered are numbers I(F), II(AC), 3(F), 6(F), IX(F), XI(F), 12(B), 17(R), 29(R), 41(R) and 1435 Flight. Most of the airframes are single seaters but there are a couple of two-seater trainers in amongst them.
As we have come to expect, the decals are beautifully printed in gloss on a mid-blue backing sheet with zero carrier film to worry about. Colour density is great and register perfect - the squadron badges are works of art, with the 12 Squadron fox head and Union Flag in astonishing detail. There are no stencils provided as the modeller can get those from any of the available kits and there are plenty out there to use. Representative two- or three-view drawings in colour for each squadron are provided in the instruction booklet. In lieu of the usual colour card, and given the small number of colours required for these aircraft, a small panel appears at the end of the booklet listing the required colours by name and BS numbers produced by Humbrol, Xtracolour, Hataka, Modelmaster, Mr Color, Tamiya and Lifecolor. It's a shame that Vallejo has missed out. Only the first two are enamels, the rest being acrylics.
There are sufficient individual markings for 22 different aircraft so if you have a well-stocked stash you can set up a production line of building and painting and then applying your choice of markings.

Each example will need to have its serials made up individually from the rows of small black or white letters and numerals which might be a bit fiddly, especially lining them up and getting the spacing correct, but, hey, we’re modellers aren’t we? I’m sure a search of the ‘net will bring up sufficient information to allow the production of any number of examples.

The sheer number of choices and cost of kits, might render this sheet a group or club purchase, or for someone with a desire to build a substantial display. If this aircraft is your era and theme then it is highly recommended.
Thanks to Air-Graphic Models for the sample.
