Rockit Studio, 1/48 scale

Newcomer in the aircraft accessory business Rockit Studio has released a 1/48 scale Super Hornet and Growler landing gear legs. This set will be suitable for the Meng or Hasegawa F/A-18E, F and EA-18G kits. Main wheels and nose wheels are included.

The set comprises 33 parts in grey coloured 3d printed resin, six metal tubes and one clear acetate die-cut film.

The main landing gear legs are supplied with locating tabs printed in place, which should make installtion fast, precise and easy.

Hydraulic lines are also printed in place.

Struts are represented by stainless steel tubes cut to size.

This will ensure a robust landing gear.

This is an impressive feat of design and technology.

Launcher bar and holdback bar are included. The launch bar may be posed raised or lowered.

Tie-down loops are also included. These will remain moveable with care.

Rockit's higher level of detail compared to Meng's plastic parts is very obvious.

The landing gear legs have the usual 3D printed attachment points, narrowing as they come closer to the actual parts. This is a fast and easy cleanup.

I have already removed all the attachment points from one of the landing gear legs and some from the wheels.

The wheels look great with radial tread and raised lettering on the tyre sidewalls. They are weighted too.

Wheel hubs are separate parts, making painting easier.

Detail on all parts is crisp and comprehensive.

Instructions are well illustrated and easy to understand.

Rockit Studio's 1/48 scale landing gear will be a luxurious finishing touch for your Meng 1/48 scale F/A-18E, F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler kits.
