Phase Hangar Accessories is the rebranded Two Mikes Resin Accessories and the brainchild of Mike Reeves. Mike's name will be familiar to long-time HyperScale visitors.

Phase Hangar has a large selection of products including conversions, details and corrections for modern aircraft.

Today I am taking a look at their 1/48 scale F/A-18E/F/G Super Hornet Weapons Pylons with Dog Ears.

The set comprises 13 parts in grey coloured 3d printed resin. These represent six wing pylons and one centreline pylon.

Detail is crisp and consistent. I can't seee any striations or any other imperfections on the resin parts.

"These updated Super Hornet weapons pylons are completely 3D printed and include separate bomb racks to ease painting.

The centerline has the bomb rack mounted integrally and all have incredible detail all the way around and can be used with or without ordnance on them.

They have been faithfully reproduced by our good friend Richard van Zandt.

The detail in the bottom of the pylons alone almost makes you want to build a "naked" Super Hornet.

The set was designed for the Hasegawa kit but can easily be adapted to Revell.

The set includes 6 wing pylons and one centerline pylon.

The "Dog Ears" are fiberglass panels over the bolts on the side of the pylons and were used to enhance aerodynamics."

No mention is made of suitability for the Meng kits but I am sure the pylons may easily be adapted.

Parts cleanup will be familiar to anyone who has used 3D printed accessories. The parts are attached to fine rods that taper even more narrowly at the point of attachment. Recently I have been using a razor saw to cut the main base from 3D printed parts, then using a new hobby blade in my Olfa knife to cut the strips as close as possible to the surfsce of the parts.

Using a sprue cutter is not recommended although I confess I have used one on my resin parts from time to time without disastrous consequences.

There are no instructions but it is pretty straightforward.
