Arma Hobby 1/48 scale
Hawker Hurricane Mk.I

by Brett Green

Hawker Hurricane Mk.I
32 Squadron RAF, Biggin Hill / Hawkinge, July 1940

Description

Here is my just-completed Arma Hobby 1/48 scale Hawker Hurricane Mk.I.

This is a great model with intricate surface textures and excellent detail.

I used the MCC 3d printed landing gear bay because I had already cleaned it up and assembled it.

I also used the 3d-printed seat and exhausts from Arma's own printable file. I liked the integrated harness straps.

I used the kit's instrument panel with a mix of paint and the instrument dial decals.

The markings are from Kagero's Topcolors 16, Battle of Britain Pt. II. Unfortunately a few of the big grey code letters broke up while I was applying them. Extreme care, careful alignment and a bit of grey touch-up paint got me there in the end.

This is not a "shake and bake" model by any means, but if you take care, plan ahead and read the instructions thoroughly, you will have yourself a lovely 1/48 scale Hurricane Mk.I.

Thanks to Arma Hobby for the sample
