This limited edition silk-screen printed A5 decal sheet comes in the usual clear zip-lock sleeve with a two sheet folded all-colour A4 instructions showing all the subjects with port-side and vertical views.
There is also a small sheet of special markings.
The glossy decals are printed on a mid-blue background with minimal carrier film and colour density and register looks to be excellent.
A bonus is that two of the aircraft are also provided with either 1/48 or 1/32 repeats of the 1/72 markings.
The nine subjects are in a variety of colours as follows:-
-
dH Dove srs 7 No. 194 in overall silver with dayglo patches, used between 1962 and 1978,
-
Avro Anson XIX No. 141 in overall silver as seen in 1981,
-
EC-135 No. 271 in overall matt dark green in 2023,
-
EC-135 No. 270, as above but with light grey empennage and a badge - this scheme is also in 1/32 scale ,
-
Pilatus PC12NG No. 280 in dark grey with commemorative coloured tail and wing-tips in 2022,
-
Pilatus PC12NG No. 281 in dark grey overall in 2022,
-
Airbus Defence C295W Persuader No.284 of 101 Sqn in overall dark grey, in 2024,
-
Sia-Marchetti SF260D N402FD in overall white in 1991-2, and
the bonus 1/48 markings:
- Percival Provost T.53 No.184 in overall silver with dayglo patches between 1955 and 1976.
Each aircraft is given a brief history and some colour notes.
These decals will certainly add something different to a collection of early post-war and modern Irish Air Corps aeroplanes and as such comes highly recommended.
Thanks to Max Decals for these samples.
