S.B.S Model has released a replacement engine for the new and very nice Airfix Bristol Bulldog kit.
Two versions are available - with or without rocker covers.
This review is covers the version without rocker covers - Item No. SBS48091.
The set is made up from just nine 3d printed parts, but the small count does not imply any lack of detail. Quite the opposite in fact.
The engine core and manifold piping are all moulded as a single piece. I particularly like the raised weld beads on the manifolds.
Each cylinder is presented as a single piece. Cooling fins, spark plugs, electrical wiring and more is on display.
Removal of the parts from their printing strips should be fast and easy using a new hobby blade and/or a razor saw.
Printing quality is perfect too.
A small instruction sheet provides exact assembly sequence, referring back to the Airfix instructions for each step.
Painting directions are not included.
This beautifully detailed engine will add a new universe of detail to the front end of your Airfix Bristil Bulldog kit. Pringing is perfect. Cleanup and assembly will be very straightforward.
Highly Recommended.
Thanks to SBS Model for the samples
