Three sand coloured resin parts.

Advantages: Nicely detailed and accurate sizing to scale over the kit’s parts. Basically, trim off and drop into the kit.
Disadvantages: None noted.
Recommendation:

This afterburner and exhaust are drop in parts needing no real extra work. It will certainly make your model look better and be more accurate to real life than the kit for no real effort.

Now we have the second instalment of the FabScale Studio’s 3D resin printed parts I received to review. As mentioned in a previous review, I had not heard of nor come across any of their products, here in Australia.

 

 

This time, the parts are supplied in a sturdy cardboard box and packed in individual plastic bags. There are 3 parts, being the exhaust outlet, the exhaust tube and the afterburner assembly. They are printed in the sand-coloured resin. There is no sign of any layering and the detail is excellent.

FabScale Studios have addressed the inaccuracies of Kinetic Models kit when the exhaust section is quite short and there is a lack of detail on the afterburner section. FabScale have given us a more 3D version in a one-piece moulding. The photos here (above and below) show the comparison of the kit versus FabScale parts. The difference is considerable.

 

 

C o n c l u s i o n

 

FabScale Studio have certainly produced the goods here, ultra-high quality, useful exhaust and afterburner replacements for your Kinetic F-104G Late kits. These will most definitely raise the quality of your build. I can’t wait to use them on my F-104’s as they will also be suitable for the Japanese and Italian versions.
