Advantages: |
Beautifully etched parts, and clear instructions. |
Disadvantages: |
Flat nature of the internal frames . |
Conclusion: |
If this is your scale and interest area then this is a highly recommended fret that suits the Academy kit and will probably fit the Airfix one as well. |

Designed to enhance the Academy kit, this 50x40mm fret plus instrument panel clear sheet will allow the modeller to super-detail that part of the Academy kit that lacks much detail. It comes in the familiar clear sleeve with a black card backing.
A single A5 sheet clearly shows the construction and location of the mass of parts that will produce a very nice interior - the framework, seat, instruments and controls are all there, as well as a few parts to improve the radiator intake and rear area. I can’t see why these parts could not be used to improve the Airfix kit either but some dry-testing will be required. The fret is finely etched and the nubs connecting parts to the sheet are very fine and should be a doddle to cut and clean up.
The only issue would be the flat surfaces of the framework that would benefit with a coat of PVA or thick paint to make them appear more rounded .
All-in-all, a very useful set that should meet the needs of a super-detailer in 1/72, and as such comes highly recommended.
