Barracuda Studios is proud and excited to release ten new 3D printed (two are actually vacform) detail sets.

Airfix released a two stage Merlin powered Mosquito B MK XVI back in 2021 and followed it up with a PR XVI last year. Its a very nice kit, but could use some love in the detail department. Barracuda Studios to the rescue! I admit to being a huge fan of the Mosquito, especially the two stage marks, so these detail sets were high on my list of proirity products. These sets will add a very visible level of detail to your Mosquito! 

We have also released two styles of Zero length rockets as fitted to the Sea Fury, which will add that last bit of detail to the Airfix Sea Fury kit that we have done quite a few other upgrade sets for. Rounding out the batch is a very cool little 1/32 set for the big scale guys. This batch is heavily favoring 1/72, but do not worry. The next batch will be mostly large scale sets.

BR72462     1:72        Mosquito B Mk. XVI Vac Canopy

This set consists of a crystal clear vacformed bomber style canopy with bulged side windows as used on many B Mk. XVI and Mk. 35 Mosquitos. It features bulged side windows, finer frames and no external frames on the rear portion of the canopy, as the frames are internal on the real aircraft.

A big upgrade that will allow you to see that cockpit much easier. Master pattern and vacformed parts by Falcon Models.

BR72463     1:72        Mosquito PR Mk. XVI Vac Canopy

This set consists of a crystal clear vacformed canopy with bulged side windows and a teardrop blister on the top as used on many PR Mk. XVI and PR 34/35 Mosquitos. It features bulged side windows, the famous tall blister on the top escape hatch, finer frames and no external frames on the rear portion of the canopy, as the frames are internal on the real aircraft.

BR72464    1:72         Mosquito Slotted Mainwheels - Block Tread

This set consists of a pair of accurate, 3D printed mainwheels, featuring detailed early style slotted hubs, block tread tires and raised tire data.  As fitted to early Mk IV bomber and PR versions, as well as the NF II nightfighter.

A simple to install detail upgrade for your Mosquito. Designed for the Tamiya, Hasegawa, and other kits. CAD by Gerry Mos.

This set consists of a pair of accurate, 3D printed mainwheels with detailed late style, solid hubs (dual disc brakes), block tread tires & tire data. As fitted to all Mosquitos from the Mk VI on to the end of production.

This extensive upgrade set consists of accurate and detailed 3D printed oil cooler intakes & vents, hollowed out exhausts, new wingroot radiators, two styles of full carburettor intakes (with and without tropical filters), featuring deep intake throats and separate ice guards w fabric mesh screen supplied..

BR72468      1:72        Mosquito Mk XVI Landing Gear Upgrade

This set contains a complete replacement for the Airfix kit's landing gear.

Superdetailed and accurate 3D printed landing gear legs and retracts are supplied assembled in one piece, with separate crisp, thin mudguards and detailed mainwheels.

A complete tailwheel with anti shimmy tire and detailed leg are also included.

This is a highly visible upgrade, featuring fine door guards that will make your model pop!

BR72469       1:72       Mosquito Mk XVI Landing Flaps - Down

This set Contains 3D printed port and stbd flaps molded in down position.

There is a reason that Mosquito model kits never give you the option of flaps in the down position. It's because they seem to hang in midair when lowered.

The connection points seem small and fragile, but Mike has come up with a very clever solution that supplies the inner and outer flap for each wing linked in one piece, easing alignment as well. It's pretty cool, and only requires removing a few ribs inside the wings.

BR48526       1:48       Sea Fury RP-3 Rockets and Rails

This set contains six super detailed, 3D printed 3-inch rockets and rails, as carried by Sea Furies and other a/c .

The rockets and rails are printed as one piece and the folded metal clips that hold the rocket to the rail are not molded solid, but accurately represent the open gaps in the clips.

The separate 60 lb. rocket heads are accurately detailed, and the fins are nice and thin.

BR48527       1:48       Sea Fury 2 Tier RP-3 Rockets and rails

This set contains four super detailed, 3D printed 2-tier rockets and rails, as carried by Sea Furies and other a/c (8 rockets in 4 pairs). The rockets and rails are printed as one piece and the folded metal clips that hold the rocket to the rail are not molded solid, but accurately represent the open gaps in the clips.

The separately printed 60 lb. rocket heads are super detailed, and the fins are nice and thin. The rockets are also accurately mounted, with the lower rocket's rear clip attaching to the exhaust nozzle, not forward of the fins, as on the kit parts.

BR32514      1:32     YAK-9T/K  37mm & 45mm Cannon Barrels

This set contains one each super detailed, 3D printed NS-37 37mm cannon barrel and an NS-45 45mm cannon barrel with muzzle brake. Also included is a hollowed out barrel for the cowl mounted machine gun.

Designed specifically for the 1/32 ICM Yak-9T and Yak-9K kits.

A simple upgrade that adds a lot of cool detail where it counts. Designed by Mike Swinburne.
