Tamiya 1/32 scale
F-4C Phantom II

by Mark Kannemeyer

Description

Here is my Tamiya 1/32 scale F-4C Phantom II.

On the 30th March 1967 Col. Robin Olds lead a low level strike against the Thai Nyguen steel mill in North Vietnam.

I could not confirm that he flew 829 on this mission but it was before his jet was named SCAT XXVII and before the 2 kill marks and the Satan's head emblem was added.

For the mission the loadout for 829 consisted of 6 x MK84 high drag bombs, 4x AIM 7's, 1x 600gal centre line tank and 1x 350gal tank on the left outer pylon and 1x ECM pod on the right outer pylon. These early F4C's had the SEA camo painted directly over the gull gray but the underside was left in white.
