Advantages: Six marking options; excellent quality decals printed by Cartograf; three sets of stencils and national markings included; extensive instructions including weapons options and detailed description of F-16CM & CJ Block 50 configurations.
Disadvantages: None noted.
Conclusion: This is another high quality offering from Bullseye Model Aviation. The reference included is just about as valuable as the decals themselves, making this a great package. This one will be warmly welcomed by all Viper fans.

Bullseye Model Aviation has released a new 1/48 scale decal set covering F-16CM & F-16CJ Block 50 Vipers based at Shaw Air Force Base.

Shaw AFB is located approximately 8.4 miles west-northwest of downtown Sumter, South Carolina. It is one of the largest military bases operated by the United States, and is under the jurisdiction of USAF Air Combat Command. The 20th Fighter Wing is the host unit.

 

 

The decals are designed for the Tamiya kit. There is a nice selection of tail markings available on the busy decal sheet.

Six marking options are offered. Four of these are full-tail, full colour commerorative markings. All four of these markings are aircraft finished in the stealthy Have Glass grey.

The remaining two options wear two shades of grey - FS 36118 and FS 36270 with more conservative fins.

 

 

The big 8" x 11" decal sheet is perfectly printed by Cartograf with a glossy finish.

Three sets of national markings and stencils are also included on the decal sheet.

Instructions are a highlight. They are called out over eight letter-sized pages.

 

 

Each of the subjects are treated to large left and right profiles. Smaller diagrams show the upper and lower surface camouflage for the two schemes.

There are also extensive notes and diagrams on the F-16CM and F-16CJ Block 50, specific weapons loadouts and where to source them, and modelling notes.

Stencil placements are covered in a full page too.

The back page has eight colour photos offering reference of all six subject aircraft.
