Art Scale Kit has been busy with a lot of new decal releases in the second half of 2023.
Amongst these are their "Hawker Hurricane Mk.Ia / Mk.IIc Part 3 - RAF Service".
These 1/48 scale decals should fit any 1/48 scale Hurricane Mk.I or Mk.IIc kit.
Instructions with reference and four-view illustrations are included.
Decal printing quality looks very good. The decals are glossy in finish. Apparently the clear top layer of the decals may be removed after application with lighter fluid, much in the same way as recent Eduard decals.
The red and yellow look a bit bright to my eye.
The three subjects are:
-
Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc, Red JX-E, BE581, 1 Squadron RAF, flying ace P/Lt. Karel Kuttelwascher, Tangmere airfield, May 1942, England.
-
Hawker Hurricane Mk.Ia, P2798, No.87 Squadron RAF, Colrene, England, Decembre 1940, Flown by Squadron Leader Ian R. Gleed.
-
Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc, BN185, No.432 Squadron RAF, England 1940
If desired, the decal cover varnish can be removed - wash off Zippo lighter fluid.
These are nice looking decals that will offer an individualised finish for your 1/48 scale Hurricane Mk.Ia / Mk.IIb.
Thanks to Art Scale Kit for the samples
