Red Fox Studio has released a large range of quick-set 3d acrylic instrument panels.
AMMO by Mig Jimenez has sent us a selection of six to check out.
Each of the instrument panels is presented inside a clear ziplock plastic bag inside another clear stapled bag. They are printed in full colour with instrument lenses and modern glass displays being delivered in a glass-like gloss. The panels themselves are in flat or satin finish.
The panels are not self-adhesive. They are just barely attached to their acrylic backing with a very low tack adhesive, but they should be attached to the model using white glue or super glue.
No cutting is required. In fact, cutting is explicitly discouraged. The panels are easily removed from their backing and are ready to use straight from the bag.
Full instructions are also included.
The five instrument panel sets under review are:
Item No. 48029 – Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 for Tamiya
This set is designed specifically for the new Tamiya 1/48 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6. The set is made up from ten acrylic 3d printed parts.
This set includes the auxiliary panel for the 210mm WFR.GR. 21 mortar.
Item No. 32030 – AH-1G Cobra for ICM
Seven acrylic 3d printed parts for the ICM kit.
Side console and both instrument panels are included.
The detail looks great in this large scale.
Item No. 48057 – Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor for Hasegawa
For the Hasegawa 1/48 scale kit.
Side consoles and glass display are included.
Item No. 32067 – Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc for Tamiya
Designed for the 1/32 scale Tamiya kits.
Separate centre flying panel.
Item No. 35001 – AH-1WT+ Cobra for MRC / Academy
Seven acrylic 3d printed parts for the MRC/Academy kits.
Side console and both instrument panels are included.
These are easy instrument panel upgrades that will greatly add to the level of detail in any cockpits they are used in.
These five sets are just the tip of the iceberg. Check out AMMO by Mig Jimenez's website for the full range of Red Fox instrument panels.
