The Douglas D-704 Buddy Tank was an in-flight refuelling system that was fitted to the A-4 Skyhawk,A-6 Intruder, A-1 Skyraider, A-7 Corsair II and S-3 Viking families.

 

 

Brengun has released a 1/48 scale early version D-704 Buddy Tank.

 

 

The set comprises 12 parts in conventionally cast grey resin.

 

 

The main body of the tank is supplied in two pieces. Take extra time and care when removing the rear half from its casting block.

The spinner cap, blades, mounts and other details are also included.

 

 

This is a simple enhancement for any of your 1960s - 70s era US aircraft. Check your references for exact usage and configuration.
