Advantages: |
Something a little unusual, very well printed and presented with clear instructions. |
Disadvantages: |
None noted although it would be nice to have white spinner spirals. |
Conclusion: |
This is a nice set of markings for a familiar aircraft, well presented and the cartoons certainly add a flash of colour to the fuselages. Recommended to the mid-war Luftwaffe Bf109 addict. |

Also available in 1/32 with the same six alternatives as on this sheet. Iliad provides markings for some Bf 109 G-6s of 7./JG 53 when based in Sicily, 1943.
Each aircraft bears a unique "Pik As" man cartoon relating to, one assumes, pilot nicknames, events, or 'in' jokes.
Packed in the usual zip-lock bag with an A4 colour instruction sheet, the decals are crisply printed in high gloss with minimal carrier film and perfect register, the cartoon images are particularly nice and full national markings are provided for four airframes.
The aircraft are numbered 3,5,6,7,8 and 9. All aircraft are in the same colours of Grey-green 74 and grey violet 75 splinter over 76 with yellow under the nose and a white spinner spiral which unfortunately is not provided. This is a pity as it is the most difficult marking to replicate with masking tape. Numbers 5, 6 and 7 have lower demarcation lines than the other three.
Clear location and colour details are given on the double sided sheet.
This is an impressive set of markings with the cartoons adding that ‘something different’ to a standard scheme. Recommended to the Luftwaffe Bf109 addict.
Thanks to Iliad Design for the review sample.
