I believe that this sheet is also available in 1/48 as ED48-124, the decals are printed by Fantasy Printshop in Cornwall, UK and depict Phantoms from their USAF career in the 1970s/80s in their bases in Iceland. Curiously, under each aircraft there is “1:32” - maybe this sheet is also available in 1/32?
Decals are beautifully printed in high gloss with minimal carrier film with great colour density and excellent register.
Instructions are in full colour with each choice being given a full A5 page with annotated four view coverage. Paint colours are called out by name and numbers from the Humbrol, Xtracolour, Xtracrylix and Lifecolor ranges.
The four choices are:
-
F-4E 66-370 of the 57th Fighter Interception Squadron at Keflavik in 1985, in overall ADC Grey and checkered fin top,
-
F-4E 66-300 of the 57th Fighter Interception Squadron at Keflavik in 1977, in overall ADC Grey, with a checkered pattern over the fin,
-
F-4E 66-334 of the 57th Fighter Interception Squadron at Keflavik in 1978, in the ‘Vietnam’ colour scheme, with a checkered pattern over the fin and intake plates, and
-
F-4C 64-685 of the 57th Fighter Interception Squadron at Keflavik in 1974, in the ‘Vietnam’ colour scheme, with a checkered pattern on the rudder .
All of the individual markings are beautifully printed and make up a very colourful set of markings and I commend these to any of you whose scale and interests these match.
This is an excellent and very colourful set of markings for the USAF Phantoms based in Iceland.
Highly recommended.
