Biullseye Model Aviation has released the first in a series of decals for Tamiya's 1/48 scale Tomcat family. This debut offering is Fleet Tomcats #1 Desert Storm.

The decals are designed for the gorgeous 1/48 scale Tamiya kit.

The set includes six varied marking options.

 

 

The subjects on this new release are in varied low-viz and hi-viz schemes - tank your pick!

 

 

48-022 covers six F-14As. Markings are designed to fit Tamiya kits, but they should be just fit with minor modifications on other Tomcat kits. 

  • VF-32 has 2 jets, their COs jet just postwar in "show" colors. During the war it was overpainted in water based paint which was removed shortly after hostilities ended and the "show" colors were restored.

  • Gypsy 210 was a standard TPS scheme.

  • VF-33 CO jet. Marked as flown by VF-33s CO CDR Dale "Snort" Snodgrass.

  • VF-14 CAG jet

  • VF-1 CAG jet.

Decals are beautifully printed by Catrograf. They are on two sheets, one full sized 12" x 8.5" and the othger approximately one third of that size.

 

 

The second decal sheet containing stencils, anti-glare panels; red warning markings and national markings. It would appear that sufficient stencil, walkway and national markings are supplied for two complete models plus plenty of leftovers.

 

 

Instructions are supplied on three double-sided letter-sized sheets. They are as well researched and thorough as you would expect from Bullseye.

 

 

Port side views and scrap view wing illustrations for each of the six subjects are included.

 

 

A stencil placement guide in included too.

 

 

The instructions are rounded out with acknowledgements.
