F-4B Tail Hook
for the Tamiya kit
Eduard PRINT, 1/48 scale
Reviewed by Brett Green
Eduard has released a set of 3D printed resin air brakes for Tamiya's gorgeous 1/48 scale F-4B Phantom II.
Inside the resealable plastic bags are two parts in grey resin plus a small decal sheet and instructions.
The two resin parts are the release mechanism and the arm of the arrestor hook. The resin parts boast exquisite detail.
As usual for 3D printing, the resin parts are attached via multiple attachment strips. These should be quite fast and straightforward to remove.
Once the parts are removed from their printing strips, they should be a drop-fit replacement.
The photo-etched fret supplies two parts. This is the hook itself, which has to be bent to shape. The second part is a spare in case you muck up the bending of the first part - very thoughtful!
Instructions are supplied on a single folded paper sheet.
Eduard's BRASSIN 3D printed resin tail hook will be a luxurious finishing touch for your Tamiya 1/48 scale F-4B Phantom II.
Thanks to Eduard for the samples.
