Xtradecal has just released a brand new 1/72 scale decal sheet covering the Avro Vulcan B.2.
These are perfect timing for the new Airfix kit but should be suitable for the 1980s vintage Airfix kit too.
Seven options are offered. Two are in overall Gloss Anti-Flash White and the others are camouflaged.
Details are as follows:
-
Avro Vulcan B.2, XL426, flown by Officer Commanding, of 83 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Scampton, UK, 1961.
-
Avro Vulcan B.2, XM600, of IX Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Cottesmore, UK, 1966.
-
Avro Vulcan B.2 MMR, (Maritime Radar Reconnaissance), XM570, of 27 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Scampton, UK, 1973.
-
Avro Vulcan B.2, XM575, of 101 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Waddington, UK, 1975.
-
Avro Vulcan B.2, XJ781, of 12 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at RAF Coningsby, UK, 1963.
-
Avro Vulcan B.2 (MMR), XM607, Royal Air Force, operating from Wideawake Islands, during 'Operation Black Buck' 30 April - 1 May, 1982.
-
Avro Vulcan B.2, XH562, of IX Squadron, Royal Air Force, seen at Masirah Air Base, Oman, 1972.
Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across two folded double-sided A4 and one A5 sheets.
Both side views are provided for the seven aircraft plus upper and lower views.
Colour notes are offered, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.
The decals are perfectly printed and feature thin carrier film. Three sets of different RAF national markings plus a pair of "zapped" Kiwi roundels are included.
This release will offer welcome variety for anyone planning to build the new or old Airfix Vulcan kits.
