FirstLook

Fantasy Printshop has released a big new decal set covering the Messerschmitt G-6, G-14, G-14/AS and G-10 variants in Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana (ANR) service.

A generous 14 options are offered. Seven of these are from 1º Gruppo caccia "Asso di bastoni", while the other seven are from 2º Gruppo caccia "Gigi Tre Osei".

The set is made up from one large decal sheet (11.5" x 8") and two A4 colour instructions sheets packed securely in a clear zip-lock plastic bag.

The glossy decal sheet is printed by Fantasy Printshop. The colour and saturation look great, and carrier film is thin. These should go down beautifully on your model.

The sheet is quite colourful with the yellow-bordered red, white and green Repubblica Sociale Italiana flag and a great selection of markings in yellow, red, blue, black and white. Around half of the subjects feature unit markings on the nose.

A smattering of German markings plus stencil decals are included too.

There will be enough Italian and German national markings to complete five models from this sheet without diving into the spares box.

Instructions are supplied in colour on two sheets of A4 paper - one double-sided and one single-sided. A single side view plus some text information on the camouflage and unit are included for each.

Research was done by Fernando d'Amico and Chris Busbridge so you can be confident in the accuracy of the subjects.

Sadly there are no upper or lower camouflage views.

Conclusion

If you, like me, are a fan of ANR aircraft in general or the Bf 109 in Italian service in general, you're really going to like this one!

Thanks to Fantasy Printshop for the sample.
