AT-26 Xavante (MB-326) 90 Gallon Wing Tip Tanks

The Aermacchi or Macchi MB-326 is a light military jet trainer designed in Italy. Originally conceived as a two-seat trainer, there have also been single and two-seat light attack versions produced. It is one of the most commercially successful aircraft of its type, being   bought by more than 10 countries and produced under license in Australia, Brazil and South Africa.  

In Brazil was the main customer for the MB-326, in 1970 ordering two prototypes and 166 MB-326GCs, called the AT-26 Xavante. It was produced under license by EMBRAER with a further six for Togo and 10 for Paraguay.

Italeri/ ESCI, along the years, brings to the market a well know rendition of this aircraft. To reproduce in scale the Embraer AT-26 Xavante you´ll need to install, larger wing tips tanks, those ones used by Italian Mb-326 is smaller. To South African and Australian ones I think you´ll also need them. I´m not sure about the MB-326 delivered by EMBRAER to Togo and Paraguay, I suspect that they used same wing tanks as the Brazilian Airforce ones.

Again, Fuel Models comes to the rescue, with a top class replacement resin parts. Just like T-27 and A-29 shoes, the wing tips tanks presents a bubble free surface, simple attachment points to the injection block, this is will be a dropfit part to the Italeri kits. Yes they´re available in both, scales 1/48 and 1/72.
