FirstLook

Eduard has just released a range of accessories for the last year's ICM 1:32 scale Tiger Moth.

The modeller is offered a ZOOM photo-etched set with instrument panel and throttle detail, another ZOOM fret with harness straps alone, or one of Eduard's new SPACE 3D printed sets which also includes colour photo-ethced harness straps and other cockpit details.

Although they are not reviewed here, Eduard also offers Brassin LooK and LooKplus update sets. We are spoiled for choice!

3DL32002 - DH.82A Tiger Moth SPACE for ICM kit

This SPACE set comprises 3D printed decals for the instrument panel, compass and placards, plus photo-etched parts for the two-tone harness straps and throttles.

Detailed instructions are included.

I used a SPACE set recently on my Bronco 1/48 scale MiG-15 and I was very pleased with the results.

I found that the 3D decals barely needed to be wet at all before they would slide - or sometimes fall - off the backing sheet. I used Gator’s Grip acrylic glue to secure the 3D printed decals to the plastic kit parts.

Detailed instructions are included.

For what you get, I think USD$14.95 represents exceptional value.

33278 - ZOOM DH.82A Tiger Moth for ICM kit

For those who prefer a colour photo-etched instrument panel, Eduard also offers this ZOOM set.

Included are the front and rear instrument panels in two layers, plus seat detail, compass faces, throttle parts and other details.

Harness straps are available separately (see below). Detail instructions are included.

33279 - Eduard DH.82A Tiger Moth Seat Belts STEEL for ICM

If you are happy with the basic kit instrument panel, you can choose the seat belt set alone.

Even the entry-level Zoom series offers useful detail with one colour photo-etched fret providing harness straps for the front and rear cockpits.

This is a compact but noticeable update for ICM's 1/32 scale Tiger Moth.

JX273 - DH.82A Tiger Moth Masks for ICM kit

These are die-cut, self-adhesive inside and outside masks for the two windscreens and for the main wheels.

These represent a fast and accurate solution for a time consuming and often disliked modelling task.

Conclusion

The use of the SPACE or ZOOM sets will result in a noticeably better detailed cockpit for your ICM 1/32 Tiger Moth. The choice of which to use is entirely yours.

However, the SPACE set with its 3D printed instrument panels, photo-etched harness straps and throttles is particularly good value at just USD$14.95. You'd be paying USD$34.90 for the equivalent combinationof the ZOOM instrument panels plus the STEEL harness straps.

The masks will save time and add sharp precision to the two windscreen parts too.

Whatever your preference, these are very effective upgrades for your ICM 1/32 scale Tiger Moth.
