Conclusion: High quality and highly detailed resin replacement wheels for the poor vinyl tyres in the Airfix and Trumpeter kits. Highly Recommended.

As part of their latest batch of new releases, BarracudaCast is offering two new sets of resin replacement wheels for 1/24 scale Spitfire Mk.I - IX. These are the five slot style and covered hub.

 

 

These new wheels will be suitable for the Airfix or Trumpeter kits, which all feature pretty awful vinyl tyres.

 

 

BarracudaCast's new resin wheels are beautifully detailed. The tyres feature smooth tread with raised lettering on the sidewalls and crisp detail on the inner and outer hubs. Subtle textures are also cast onto the sidewalls of the tyres.

The bottom of the tyres are subtly bulged and flattened.

Casting and detail is up to BarracudaCast's usual superlative standards my sample too.

These wheels will be a simple yet highly desirable finishing touches for your 1/24 scale Spitfire projects.
