Aerocraft Model has sent information and images of their latest releases - replacement clear cast resin canopy sets for Trumpeter's 1/32 scale P-51B Mustangs, brass strut and landing gear sets for the Meng 1/24 Fokker Dr.1 Triplane and undercarriage legs for HK Models' 1/32 scale B-25 Mitchell:

This is a brass cast undercarriage strut set for the new Fokker Dr.I by Meng

This is a set of brass parts made from the plastic supplied parts in the kit.

Note you will need to clean up some casting sprue gates from the parts and the odd small brass 'inclusions' that may appear through the casting process.

Improved P-51B canopy set for the Trumpeter 1/32 kits This set has been a long time in the making and it would not have happened if I had not had commissioned Tim Perry to do the CAD drawing for the two new blown canopy sections. One for the closed position and one for the open position. The kit screen has been improved to remove the hard / sharp corner line at the top front, a new rear dog house section has also been developed by myself with the aid of 3D CAD and printing. The blown sections and the rear have taken ages to prepare to get them to an acceptable standard to enable good clear sections to be cast but are now at that point. Note canopy rails are also supplied as 3D printed parts.

These clear resin parts can be buffed with normal buffing sponges and shiners sold by many vendors, nail bars and modelling companies. 

Recently I have found that the Micro-mesh branded products are very good in polishing up these cast canopies. 
It is best not to use aggressive sanding materials, other than where to assist in trimming the casting material. 
Also use you favourite, clear dipping liquid to enhance clarity if desired.

Improved P-51B canopy sections for the Trumpeter 1/32 kits This set has two parts for those that may like to use these for the 3 part folding canopy section canopy style. This set may work with the Revell kit but that is up to the modeller to figure out.

 

NORTH AMERICAN B-25 MITCHELL BRASS UNDERCARRIAGE SET FOR THE HONG KONG MODELS KITS

This is a brass cast undercarriage strut set for B-25 Mitchell, HK Model kits.

This is a set of brass parts made from the plastic supplied parts in the kit, but with a few modifications. The linkages are all part of the main undercarriage, however they are very thin and flimsy and would not cast well in the brass casting process. So those have been removed along with the circular tie down eyes (very oversized on the kit parts) and these parts are now supplied as 3D resin printed parts.

Other kit parts also need to be added to complete the undercarriage set.

Note that you will need to clean up some casting sprue gates from the parts and the odd small brass 'inclusions' that may appear through the casting process.
