I have just finished building ARMA Model’s first 1/48 scale plastic kit, their PZL P.11c.

The model was built almost straight from the box, including the decals. I did use E-Z Line for the aerial wires, added fine brass rod for the main undercarriage braces and replaced photo-etched parts for the cockpit hand holds and gunsight bead with more durable copper wire.

Most of the time and effort was spent working on the comprehensively detailed cockpit.

Building the kit was a pleasure. Fit is excellent and alignment of the gull wing and the main wing struts was perfect.

There are some large sprue attachments, especially on the leading and trailing edges of the wings and in four locations on the cowl ring. You’ll need to take plenty of time and care removing these, as it is easy to take chunks out of the plastic surfaces (ask me how I know…).

It's funny how these modelling projects can trick you in the box sometimes. With 67 plastic parts I was expecting a quick build for a short article but I wound up taking more than 150 photos. There'll be plenty to talk about!
