More Air National Guard Mustangs

Iliad Design of Canada has released a new 1/48 scale decal sheet for Cold War era Air National Guard P-51S / F-51D Mustangs. This is a follow-up to their previous ANG Mustang sheet.

Four Air National Guard Mustangs are covered on the sheet. All four are finished in bare metal but markings vary:

• P-51D Mustang of 12 FS, Oklahomoa National Guard, Tulsa, 1947. Finished in natural metal with 125 FS markings instead of fuselage roundels.

• F-51D Mustang with the Minnesota Air National Guard in 1953. This very striking aircraft features a yellow nose, blue spinner, black anti-hglare strip, yellow rudder, blue fin tip and yellow and blue stripes on the outboard upper and lower wings. Great scheme!

• P-51D Mustang of the 111th FIS, Texas National Guard, Ellington Field. Finished on overall natural metal.

• P-51D Mustang of the 116th FS, Washington Air National Guard,1948. Finished on overall natural metal.

Instructions are offered over a folded A4 sheet in full colour, with side plus upper and lower views and notes on the finish and units.

Decals are printed perfectly on my sample, and colours look good.

These are four interesting subjects and high quality decals offering a different look for any of the myriad Mustang kits!.
