Advantages: |
Designed to fit the Eduard kit of the Fokker VII, beautifully printed with great colour rendition and clarity and good instructions.. |
Disadvantages: |
Some fiddly cutting but nothing beyond the patient modeller.. |
Conclusions: |
This is an excellent set of decals for this kit and should enhance the look of any Eduard Fokker D.VII, whether used all over or just certain airframe parts, usually the wings if I recall. |

These are designed to fit the Eduard kit of this aircraft. Someone with more courage than I might like to se if they fit kits by Roden or Revell.
While many modellers are attracted by the colourful schemes that the Fokker aircraft of WWI carried, it is important to note that many also carried the lozenge patterned fabric that typified so many German aeroplanes, whether all over or just in part ( often just the wings and tail). A number of other companies have produced 4 and 5 colour lozenge sheets in the past but these had to be cut to fit the kit they are to be used on.
This set clearly avoids the cutting issue and looks to be beautifully printed by Eduard themselves, and a clear set of instructions are included on the rear of each header sheet. Each piece has to be cut out and applied to the section of airframe it is intended for and I would imagine that the task will require a few sessions to avoid damaging the piece last applied. There is less than 1mm of clear backing film around each piece and cutting will need to be done very carefully. I cannot comment on how well they settle down onto the plastic or how they react to setting agents but would recommend starting with small areas such as the underside of the wheel aero-foil winglet to test your preferred method. I’m sure that, if successfully applied, they will given an amazing look to a model.
Specific sheets being reviewed are:

Thanks to Eduard for the sample.
