AIMS Decals has released a decal sheet covering three Gloster Gladiator / Sea Gladiators in 1/32 scale.
These will be suitable for the new ICM 1/32 scale Gladiator Mk.I kit.
Each of the three aircraft is finished in overall silver dope with two of these featuring colourful markings and the third wearing light grey code letters on the silver fuselage.
Details are as follows:
-
Gloster Gladiator Mk.I, K6145, 3 Sqn, Kenley, UK, 1937. This aircraft features emerald green markings on the fuselage sides and upper wing.
-
Gloster Gladiator Mk.I, L7616, 33 Sqn, Egypt, 1939. This aircraft features large light grey codes on the fuselage sides.
-
Gloster Sea Gladiator N5519, 802 Sqn, HMS Glorious, June 1939. This aircraft features yellow chevron band on the fuselage sides, black fin nd yellow checker pattern ion the upper wing.
Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across one folded double-sided A4 sheet.
Both side views and top and bottom view of the wings are provided.
The decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film. The colourful markings are supplied as decals. National markings are provided for the upper and lower wings, plus the fuselage for the aircraft with the green markings. The carrier film surrounds the fuselage roundels and the green marking as one decal on each side. If you are planning to use one of the other two options you'll need to carefully cut the fuselage roundels away from the green markings or use the kit decals.
This release will offer welcome variety for anyone planning to build the new ICM 1/32 scale Gloster Gladiator Mk.I kit.
Thanks to AIMS Decals for the review sample
