The Eduard Brassin P-51D oval tread wheels set consists of 5 light grey parts. Included is a set of masks and an instruction sheet. The oval tread pattern tended to be used on heavy or rough airstrips. In some cases it was known that some aircraft flew with different tread patterns on each wheel. You will need to check your references for specific aircraft to see if these were used.
The detail on the wheels is finely reproduced even down to the clear tyre brands. These will certainly improve your Mustang model with careful painting. Firstly you have a pair of main wheels with the distinctive curved rounded cross section of this type. They have wonderfully detailed brake hubs, which when painted and washed will really pop and look spectacular. There is also a pair of spoked wheel covers. These do have some fine resin flash within the holes and need some cleaning up before attachment and painting. The last part is a nicely detailed tail wheel to complete the set. This is a one piece casting and just needs some painting to complete it.
Colour call outs are for both Aqueous and Mr Color from Gunze.
These are made for the current Eduard releases, but I’m sure they could be used on their earlier kits as well as other manufacturer’s kits.
This is a very nice Brassin wheel set to lift the detail and quality of your Eduard P-51D Mustang model.
Highly Recommended.
Thanks to Eduard for the samples and images.
