This is an easy and useful upgrade for your Eduard 1/32 scale Bf 108. |
Aerocraft Models has released a simple but useful upgrade for the new Eduard 1/32 scale Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun.
Aerocraft's 1/32 scale brass Bf 108 undercarriage set comprises just three parts in cast brass. Casting is perfect, and theonly cleanup required is the removal of a small casting stub on the end of the axles.
The oleo scissors are cast directly onto the main undercarriage leg, simplifying assembly.
Similarly, the tail wheel leg is a single piece. To fit the kit's plastic tail wheel all you have to do is bend open the forked mount, place the wheel in position and squeeze the fork shut again. Voila!
The Aerocraft brass tail wheel strut also has a longer locating pin, making the join with the lower fuselage stronger.
In my opinion though, the greatest advantage of metal undercarriage is that the rake and splay may be adjusted after the legs have been installed.
This is an easy and useful upgrade for your Eduard 1/32 scale Bf 108. Cast brass always feel luxurious to work with too. I only wish mine had arrived before I built the kit!
Thanks to Aerocraft Models for the sample.
