Description

This was a kit that I reviewed here on HyperScale in November 2018

Unfortunately, having to move house just after my review and a large and urgent amount of home renovations kept my building low levels. This year has seen much more time so it was out with the Eduard L-29 Delfin Weekend kit.

Originally moulded by AMK and with Eduard decals, and what decals they were. The schemes offered were a Czech Tiger Meet aircraft which was my choice as it’s one of my build themes, and a Slovakian scheme.

The kit went together superbly. Whilst general cockpit detail was excellent, the complex seat belt system was lacking with a poor decal. An Eduard pre-painted set was ordered and added which really lifts the whole cockpit. I was impressed by the quality and ease of construction with the AMK base kit. Now I’m looking forward to my Kfir and F-14D Tomcat kits.

Then after a base paint of yellow, we have the addition of 213 decals. Each stripe is an individual decal, or in some cases 2, 3 or 4 parts across panel such as flaps and cockpit parts. The whole process was carried out with 7 sessions of about 2 hours each. I must admit, that in the end the result was really worthwhile. Not having lots of carrier film between the stripes really lifts the quality of finish.

All in all, a great addition to my Tiger Meet collection
