DXM continue to give us decal sets covering great schemes used by the JASDF. This time they are for the F-4EJ Super Phantoms of 8 Squadron. The decals are printed by Cartograf, so you know they are of the best quality and will ultimately go down well on your model. There is an A5 sheet that covers 4 aircraft of this squadron over a period of 4 years from 2002 to 2006.
The aircraft covered are;
-
Bu No. 57-8354, F-4EJ, ‘354’, 8 Sq JASDF, ACM 2003 Winner, Misawa AB
-
Bu No. 57-8354, F-4EJ, ‘354’, 8 Sq JASDF, 2006, Iruma AB
-
Bu No. 57-8362, F-4EJ, ‘362’, 8 Sq JASDF, 2006, Misawa AB
-
Bu No. 27-8306, F-4EJ, ‘306’, 8 Sq JASDF, 2002, Misawa AB
Detail is crisp and appear to be in perfect register. Decals are thin and will go down well with little signs of being a decal.
The instructions have most adequate detail on them, with colour call outs for Gunze Mr Color, Humbrol and where possible FS Standards numbers. The decals are mentioned as being applicable for the Academy, Esci, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Italeri and Revell kits.
This is another very nice decal sheet with four interesting schemes. If you have a bit of an JASDF scheme obsession this set will give you more nice marking options.
Thanks to DXM for the samples.
