The is a landscape format 108-page colour photo album printed on quality glossy paper with gloss card covers and measures 24x22cm.

The vast number of images focus on the Mirage 2000 EGM5 variant of this family of modern jets as used by the Hellenic Air Force and give the modeller or aviation technophile an incredible amount of detail. I imagine that most variants of this aircraft would have similar details so the book is useful to anyone with an interest in the aeroplane. The authors have clearly been given amazing access to this aircraft as the photos are extraordinarily detailed.

The images are divided into twenty-five (!) sections, broadly covering overall schemes, cockpit and canopy, ejection seat, fuselage, landing gear, wings, tail, exhaust, and then the open panels to show radar, avionics and maintenance areas, followed by incredibly detailed examination of the engine, then weapon fits from all angles and finishing off with a few pages on the French 2000N variant.  Colour reproduction is outstanding so you won’t have to argue about what shade of what is used.

Images are beautifully clear and vary from two to four per page so are all a very useful size for modelling interpretation. Only generalised captions are provided but that is probably all that is needed as images are self-explanatory.  The super-detailer will find the book very interesting and useful. I was pleased to see that many images had an arrow to indicate the position of the front of the aircraft so that orientation could be ascertained.

Pages 84-5 are occupied with a list of sources for modelling details for Mirage 2000s from a variety of suppliers through the company site ‘The 48ers.com'.

Conclusion

This is an excellent photo reference for this most elegant of modern jets and recommended too all modellers of this aircraft in whatever scale you choose to work.

Thanks to Eagle Aviation for the sample
