GasPatch Models has been in the spotlight recently thanks to their beautiful injection moulded 1/48 scale kits, but they also produce a good-sized line of accessories.
These include a growing range of machine guns that are suitable for WWI, between-the-wars and WWII subjects. They also offer wheels, gunsights and other related accessories.
Tonight I am reviewing the GasPatch 1/24 scale Browning Cal.50 Mk.I / Mk.II Wing Mounted machine gun.
This will be suitable for the big Airfix and Trumpeter P-51D Mustangs and others.
Packaging is simple but effective. The parts are contained in a clear blister pack and immobilised by custom-cut foam to ensure the delicate parts are delivered in perfect condition. My sample is free from any damage.
Assembly instructions are included.
Two full guns are provided.
They are broken down into a separate main body / breech, with a separate breech flap, a couple of detail parts and ammo clips.
The breeches are supplied as a single resin part with no cleanup required whatsoever.
The barrel slips into a square opening at the front of the breech.
The ammo, barrels and breech flap are cast onto fine attachments.
GasPatch Models has delivered a truly exquisite line of beautifully detailed resin accessories.
In 1/24 scale you can really see the benefit of the jewel-like castings. These will be a lovely upgrade for your large scale P-51s and other .50 cal equipped fighters.
Thanks to GasPatch Models for the samples.
