The 250 lb AN-M57A1 and 500 lb AN-M64A1 bombs of WWII were General Purpose (GP) high explosive aerial bombs. They were both manufactured in the USA for both Army and Navy use. They were used extensively by all allied forces during the war.
The letters AN in the bomb coding indicates the interchangeability between forces and the single suspension lug used by the British single suspension racks. The explosive fillings were either T.N.T or 50/50 Amatol/T.N.T mix.
The shape of both sizes was basically the same with the 250 lb being smaller.
The sets come in blister packs. Inside this pack is enough parts to assemble a set of 8 bombs. There are 8 body fronts and rears cast in grey resin with very few pinholes or other, if any, flaws. There is a smaller sheet of photo-etch which has separate fins for each of the bombs, a fuse blade for the nose and a rear plug cover. It also has the tiny suspension lugs in etch to be added to the body carefully. As mentioned before the only difference between these sets is the actual size of the bombs.
Brengun has given us a good size sets of 8 which will certainly help fill bomb bays of any twin engine bomber or single engine fighter/bomber.
All of the Brengun bomb sets will certainly add some quality detail to your models and each of the sets can be used on many different aircraft with makes them really useful.
