P-51 Mustang Replacement Wheels - Two Styles

BarracudaCast is the resin accessory arm of Roy Sutherland's Barracuda Studios enterprise.

Just in time for Eduard's new 1/48 scale P-51D, although equally suitable for a wide selection of A-36 and P-51A, B, C, D, and K model Mustangs kits, BarracudaCast has released two sets of resin replacement wheels.

The new resin wheels are beautifully detailed. The wheel hubs are see-through, as they are on the full-sized aircraft.

Detail is complete right down to the tiny air valve moulded inside the hub.

Detail throughout is crisp. The seamless tread patterns are very impressive.

Each wheel is supplied with the bottom of the tyres very subtly bulged and flattened.

Casting and detail is up to BarracudaCast's usual superlative standards on both of my samples too.

Cleanup will be fast, with the wheels cast onto a narrow strip. The holes in the hubs have a little fine flash to clean up but this will be no chore and is probably an inevitable product of the casting process.

BR48051 - P-51 Mustang Hexagonal Tread Pattern Wheels
