Xtradecal has released another new 1/72 scale decal set with nine options for the brand new Airfix Phantom FG.1 and forthcoming FGR.2 kits.

 

 

Three of the aircraft are finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey, with the remainder in greys.

 

 

One FG.1 and eight FGR.2s are depicted on the sheet. Details are as follows

FG.1

  • XT865/U 111 Sqn zapped with Thor's Hammer by Danish AF NATO 1980;

FGR.2

  • XV474/F RAF Aldergrove 1978;

  • XV498/U 92 Sqn blue fin RAF Akrotiri;

  • XT891/Z 56 Sqn RAF Wattisham 1978 corrected not 43 Sqn.;

  • XV403/403 6 Sqn RAF Luqa, Malta 1969;

  • XV422/J Jaguar Killer 19 Sqn on detachment RAF Decimomannu 1980;

  • XV464/464 54 Sqn RAF Coningsby 1974;

  • XV401/B 228OCU/64 Sqn RAF Wattisham 1988;

  • XV423/R 6 Sqn RAF Coltishall 1974;

National markings are provided for all options.

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across one folded double-sided A4 and one A5 sheets. Both side plus upper and lower views are provided for all nine aircraft.

 

 

Colour notes are supplied, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

The decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film.

 

 

This release offers yet more camouflage and marking options for anyone planning to build the brand new Airfix 1/72 scale Phantom FG.1 and forthcoming FGR.2 kits.
