Xtradecal continues to stride alongside Airfix's brisk release schedule. Amongst their newest batch of decals are two sets for the Hawker Hunter F.6 in 1/48 scale, well in time for the brand new Airfix kit due for release in October this year.

I am examining Part Two tonight. Nine Hawker Hunter F.6s are covered.

 

Seven aircraft are finished in the Green and Grey upper surface camouflage over silver lower surfaces; with Two in silver and red. A nice variety of Squadron flashes and other markings are included.

 

 

Details are as follows:

  • XF438/H 208 Sqn RAF Tangmere 1959;

  • XF440/D 247 Sqn RAF Odiham 1957;

  • XG172/36 229 OCU (54 Sqn) RAF Chivenor 1969;

  • XF382/15 234 TWU at RIAT Greenham Common 1976;

  • XG204/D CFE detached to Sharjah 1963;

  • XK149/44 79 Sqn RAF Brawdy 1970;

  • XF383/14 220OCU (145 Sqn) RAF Duxford 1960;

  • XF447/H 65 Sqn RAF Duxford 1960;

  • XF383 12 Sqn RAF Honnington 1984;

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across two folded double-sided A4 and one double-sided A5 sheets.

 

 

Both side views plus upper and lower views are provided for all nine aircraft.

 

 

A selection of national markings is included.

Colour notes are offered, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

The decals are beautifully printed and feature thin carrier film.

 

 

A smaller second sheet is provided for black serial numbers.
